She trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Contemporary Dance, where she graduated with first-class honours, and has since worked across film, music, TV, fashion, advertising, and theatre. As a dancer, Zara has performed for clients including The VMAs, Madonna, FKA Twigs, Miley Cyrus, Viagra Boys, Selfridges, Royal Botanic Gardens, The Venetian, James Blake, Levi’s, and CHENPENG. Her accolades include winning 1st-place at the Hamburg Dance Competition, and two-time semi-finalist at the Brussels International Contemporary Dance Contest. Her work has also been recognised with #CAPITAL being named a finalist at The Stage Awards 2024 and The Bog Body being named a finalist at the UK Music Video Awards 2025, both projects in which she played their central role as a dancer and self-choreographer. She is currently dancing with various live events and touring companies whilst performing for shorter freelance projects too, represented by Crumb Agency, Take 3 Agency, and BEX3 Agency. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60b51fe9b436a2291e01bab7/da8ac711-c493-4c50-8ba1-0d6b7680b44a/Image+Edit+B.png About Me Zara creates and often performs in her own artistic work. Informed by her background in contortion and driven by a desire to tease apart how the body is observed and internally experienced, her work navigates dystopias, body horror, the instability of perception, and the body as a site of distortion and metamorphosis. She takes a multidisciplinary approach to movement and world building, often through a distinctly visual lens. Her work has been programmed by venues and platforms including BFI Southbank, ICA, Royal Academy Lates, Channel 4’s Random Acts, videoclub, Modern Art Oxford, Lincoln Museum, and Birmingham International Dance Festival, among others. https://www.zarasands.com/contact daily 0.75 2026-06-01 https://www.zarasands.com/vault-video-specifications daily 0.75 2024-04-02 https://www.zarasands.com/blurgestum-tenere-print daily 0.75 2025-12-03 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/60b51fe9b436a2291e01bab7/e84feb5a-dc1e-474e-9ae5-dac0c525e991/Blurgestum+Tenere+Print+SMALL+FILE.jpg Blurgestum Tenere Print -
